Through modeling of cognitive developmental processes, we will support the cognitive developmental robotics research that is proceeding in our project. The aim of our research group's work is to clarify the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive developmental processes, including understanding of transitive and intransitive action, action and auditory imitation, and verbal and non-verbal communication. We will perform behavioural and neuroimaging studies in brain-damaged patients, autistic patients, and individuals with Williams syndrome, and will also perform neurophysiological studies in monkeys.
